More details about my latest commission

I’m in the final stages of my latest commission. Several months in the making and quite a challenge as I’ve never done a copy of a medieval subject. It is a copy of a corbel from the Exeter Cathedral called Our Lady’s tumbler as it is made of a tumbler and a minstrel that are facing and symbolically entertaining a Virgin Mary’s corbel on the other side of the Cathedral. This will then be painted by the professional restorator Eddie Sinclair with original medioeval pigments so to recreate the same colours as it was in the 14th century. A summary of the project has been recently published on The friends of Exeter Cathedral annual report. See it below.

I’ll post more photos of the finished tumbler in the upcoming weeks. After that it will be mounted and then moved to Exeter to be painted.
